SSP Tip-Off Classic Standouts Pt.3

Below we dive into more of the standouts from the SSP Tip-Off Classic.

Columbus 6’2 PG Jace O’neal

In my opinion Jace is one of the best guards in the state regardless of class. He’s a long, shifty PG who can do a little bit of everything. Saturday O’Neal was a stat stuffer, and that’s something he does on a nightly basis. He doesn’t have to score on ton of points to put his stamp on the game. Defensively he comes up with steals and momentum swinging blocks often. Offensively he can get by defenders with ease for layups or find teammates for open shots. This year will be a coming out year for him. Coaches get in to see him ASAP.

Cleveland Central 5’9 Tayler Berryhill

Berryhill is a true PG. It’s not often you hear those two words thrown around anymore. He gets everything organized for Central and always dictates the flow of the game. Berryhill does a great job of getting to his spots and making shots. His shooting ability allows him to be able to penetrate and set his guys up when defenders close out too hard. Cleveland Central is a top contender in 5A and Berryhill is the engine of the team. Coaches looking for a floor general look here.

Columbus 2026 6’4 Mike Hood

A name that many haven’t heard of yet is Mike Hood. Hood is just a super tough glue guy who loves to do all of the dirty work. He can guard multiple positions, out rebound your best rebounder, and get buckets. He will be one of the guys that you might over look on the scouting report that comes in to win the game. Bright future ahead

Cleveland Central 6’6 Jayden Sampson

Sampson showed in glimpses what he is capable of doing. He’s long, can shoot the ball, handle it, and get to the basket. Sampson had one moment in the game where if he finished it, it would have been a candidate for dunk of the year. Its interesting to me that he’s sort of under recruited as he possesses all of the tools to thrive at the next level. If he can bring it all together as the season progresses the offers will come.

North Panola 2024 6’3 Dee Robinson

Robinson is one that many haven’t heard of as well. We’ve seen him a few times over the past few months, and he continues to improve every time we see him. He had a slow start, but when he started to get comfortable he made shots at will. Robinson made contested jumpers from midrange and deep all game. His Handle is solid and he has good athleticism that allows him to play above the rim. He has a few Juco offers and that list will only grow the more he produces this season.

New Hope 2024 6’4 Issac Grady

A super athletic wing is what you get with Grady. He was flying around all game hanging on the rims at the tip-off. He has improved so much since the end of last season. The game has slowed down for him, and he can make plays in a variety of ways now. His outside jumper is much improved, he can post if needed, and he’s handling it a lot better. Grady will be a sought after prospect for Jucos in the state this season.

New Hope 2026 6’2 TJ Warren

Warren is a Top 5 Sophomore in the Sip! He averaged 17ppg last season and he has already up that to start the season. He’s a dynamic guard with a lot of bounce and the added muscle mass has made it even tougher to stay in front of him. Saturday he was blowing by guys at will. He was also hanging on rims and converting nifty layups all game long. He will be one to watch this season and will be the “GUY” for the Trojans. 20pts in win over North Panola
