Southern Spring Invitational - Front court review
Team YRN 2022 6’9 Malique Ewin
Ewin was a very intriguing prospect. First thing that pops out of course is the height. Then one notices he can really play the game. He dominates the boards on the offensive and defensive end. His presence in the low post is felt whenever he gets touches, always seeming to finish around the basket. The thing that stands out the most is his ability to pop out and knock down short corner jumpers and shoot it well from the 3 point line. Going forward he should be in the National top 100 rankings for 2022 when they release. Coaches will be all over him as they begin to see him.
Pro One Select 2022 6’7 Will Shaver
When one first watches Shaver they will see that he runs the floor very well for his size. He has a great feel/skill set already, and it will only get better has his development progresses. I really loved how easy he makes the game for teammates. His passing ability is great for his size and when teams pressed he made them pay with easy outlet passes for lay ups. He rebounds well and makes the 3 point shot with ease. Still only a freshman his recruitment will bloom in due time. Wouldn’t be shocked to see him in the top 100 rankings as well.
Nike Elite Stars 2021 6’7 Bryson Hall
Smooth and skilled is the best way to describe Hall. He has a great feel for the game and uses that blend of size and skill to dominate opponents. He’s a point forward for sure. He weighs about 250 but he carries the size well. Hall is a skilled ball handler with moves on the block that make him a mismatch for almost any team. Not sure how his recruitment is shaping up, but any college program will be getting a real hooper with him.

MEBO 2021 6’6 Joseph Dupree II
Another skilled forward with a point guard skill set is Dupree. I had the chance to see him in a playoff match up against Starkville high who went on to capture the Mississippi 6A championship and ever since I’ve had to follow him. He has good size and can go in the post when need and get a bucket. Like most modern day players he prefers to be on the perimeter where he can make shots and create for himself as well as others. Has the spring continues to move forward and he continues to stay in the gym the offers will start coming. Expect a lot of SWAC schools and other LM/MM to get involved.
