Top 20 Team 1

2021 6’6 Rock Robinson (Pontotoc)

Rock is always one of the best shooters in the gym no matter where we see him. This past weekend he came out blazing hot knocking down jumpers in drills and carried it over to gameplay. What really intrigues one is the upside that he has. With the ability to score inside and out he can cause a lot of problems at the next level

2023 5’11 Josh Hubbard (Madison Ridgeland Academy)

Hubbard has been playing at a high level all summer and that carried over to the camp. His vibrant play makes him fun to watch. He plays with great pace and flare. He really did a great job of getting to the basket and converting layups at a high rate. His game didn’t stop there. He lit it up from beyond the arc as well. Look for him to blow up over the upcoming spring/summer.

2022 5’11 Cedquavious Hunter (Cordova) Cal State Bakersfield Commit

Hunter came into camp coming off a hot weekend at the Team Thad combine. He’s a guy that comes to compete on both ends of the floor. Hunter is a microwave scorer who can heat up at any moment and put up points in bunches. He was one of the best scorers in Mississippi high school basketball last year. It will be fun to watch what he does over in Tennessee this season.

2022 6’1 Demarcus Powe (Merdian)

If you are looking for a quality PG look no further than Powe. He did a great job of running the show and scored the basketball at will this past weekend. He excels in the half-court setting where he is able to create for himself as well as others. His size and pace give defenders fits. It will be interesting to see how Powe’s recruitment will take off this season.

2021 6’7 Carlous Williams (Harrison Central) South Carolina Commit

South Carolina is getting a great player in Williams. He has the size and pace to fit in well in the SEC. He handles the ball well and has a nice shot to go along with it. Where he excels at is his athleticism. He’s a crazy athlete and lives above the rim. He made some noteworthy highlight plays throughout the camp. It’s always good to have such high profile players in a camp setting the tone for others.

2021 6’5 Kareem Thompson (Horn Lake)

For it being my first time seeing Thompson play, he didn’t disappoint. He plays with a non-stop motor and makes a habit of being in the right place at the right time. He runs the floor and is always available for teams to find him for easy buckets. What stands out the most is his hustle. He rebounds at a high level and defends multiple positions. It’s no wonder all of the Jucos have been calling for him to sign.

2023 6’6 Gavin Brinker (Pontotoc)

Here we have another super talented sophomore in Brinker. He does a little bit of everything on the floor. He can rebound, handle, and score the ball. The part of his game that really sets him apart is the way he competes. He loves to go out and guard guys. He is on every 50/50 ball. He’s really a guy that can fill almost every column of the stat sheet. It will be interesting to see where his recruitment goes from here as he already holds 2 in state High Major offers.

2021 6’7 Cortez Dennis (Stone)

Cortez is a long and lanky guard who can score from anywhere on the floor. I was really impressed with his ability to handle the ball. He went by defenders all day long. He was able to score at the basket and also hit his share of NBA range 3 balls. Dennis also wowed the crowd during drills with his highlight-reel dunk package. It will be interesting to see if he picks basketball as he is also an Elite Pitcher on the diamond.

2022 6’5 Avaughn Johnson (Murrah)

Last year Johnson camp to the Tidal Wave and impressed us so much that he picked up the underclassman of the day award. This year was no different. He came in and played with the same energy and intensity as last year. His game has developed so much in the past year. He does a great job of attacking from the wing and is always looking to catch a body. Look for Johnson recruitment to make a jump this season has he possess all of the tools of a college prospect.

2022 6’2 JaBorri McGee (South Pike)

If you were looking for energy you didn’t have to look farther than Mcgee on Saturday. He was engaged from start to finished. He made a habit of locking guys up and giving them buckets on the other end. One thing that wasn’t a question was his vocal leadership and his will to compete. He already holds a tone of interest from D1s and we can expect that to increase with him being a special talent.
