3 A Quarter Finals ICC- Standouts

This late in the season every game is a must win. Inside of ICC’s nice arena, the atmosphere was electric for any younger hooper. Many of which lived up to the magnitude of the moment and put on great performances. Here are my top performers of the night.

Girls -

Ruleville Central (MS) 5’11 G Jacorriah Bracey-

The ole miss commit had her future coach court side and she didn’t disappoint. There seemed to be nothing she couldn’t do tonight. She had a high motor and never seemed to tire throughout the game. She picked her spots and split double teams all game long. Her floater and 3 ball were on point and it helped her finish with 34pts. Ole miss is getting a gamer who does whatever it takes to win

Boys-

Holly Springs (Ms) 2020 6’8 Derek Fountain
Fountain can sometimes go unnoticed or seem quiet in terms of performance but once you look at the stat lines you see where he dominates. At 6’8 he has a strong handle to get to his spots. He plays very unselfish and always looks to make the right basketball play. Short corner jumpers, 3 pointers, and easy put backs are what he used to dominated last night. He will be key to Holly Springs success heading into the semifinal next week.
20pts 12ast 3ast 5blks

Houston (MS) 2020 6’5 Shemar Crawford- Crawford dominated the game in spurts using his size to take advantage of the smaller guards. He attacks the basket strong and finishes above the rim. His handle is good and he just has that DOG mentality to go out and get his team a W! With a solid core of seniors Houston will look to finish the season with a ring.

Houston (MS) 2023 6’6 MJ Smith

On one of the biggest stages of the season, Smith used this platform as a coming out party. With a team loaded with mostly seniors, MJ has found a niche to come in and be productive. Last night he used his athleticism to his advantage. He out rebound the opposition, and dominated inside the paint. The highlights of his night came in the 3rd and 4th in which he caught a vicious body, and closed out with a nice lob from teammate Xavier Virges. MJ will look to bad to his stock next week and over the spring/summer during AAU season.

North Panola (MS) 2022 5’11 PG Cedquavious Hunter

Excitement is an understatement for what we got to witness with Hunter last night. From the tip he was zoned in to getting his team a win. He came out in the 1st quarter and hit multiple tough contested jumpers. He used his speed, handle, and crafty finishing ability to score. His floater always seemed to find a way to go in. Hunter was a nightmare in transition using a variety of moves such as the euro and hop steps to convert layups. Hunter is one of the top players in Mississippi regardless of class and he’s fun to watch. He finished with 32pts. Coaches be sure to keep an eye out for this kid
