T-Web's Best in the Sip- Final Top 10

  1. Callaway (25-5)

With Callaway playing tough opposition all year and going undefeated in MHSAA play, it’s easy to leave them as the number one team in the state. After seeing them play at ICC in the quarter-finals, it was clear that they would steamroll everyone in their path. I don’t think anyone predicted them to dominated Center Hill the way they did, but that’s the beauty of the game.

    5 A State CHAMPIONS

  2. Starkville (24-2)

You can always count a team coached by Greg Carter to come into every season and compete. this group was no different. Lead by a solid core group of seniors they found a way to get back to the championship and repeat. After they got by Olive Branch in the quarter-finals it was pretty much written that they would repeat.

    6A State Champion

  3. Olive Branch

Losing a close one to Starkville at the buzzer was tough, but it doesn’t take away from the body of work in which OB did all year. With big wins over #25 Moutain Brook and splitting with Houston (TN), Olive Branch has nothing to hang their heads about.

  4. Center Hill (25-9)

Another well-coached group of guys that just came up a little short was Center Hill. They were one of the few teams that played a tough schedule and it prepared them to make it to The Pavilion. Styles make games and unfortunately, Callaway’s hot start was too much to battle back from.

    5A State Champions

  5. Ingomar (36-2)

Ingomar was one of the top teams I saw early on in the season. They were well oiled in November and they found a way to keep it going all year. With a group of guys who know how to play and what to expect, winning a championship is a yearly thought.

    1A State Champion

  6. St. Andrews (29-6)

St. Andrews played really good basketball all year long. When they hit the playoffs they switched into another gear. Knocking off Holly Springs in the Semi’s was a big win. They won the ship by beating Velma Jackson, who beat them twice this season.

    3A State Champion

  7. Coahoma County

Coahoma is a close-knit group of players that have been playing together since middle school. Everybody knows their role, and everyone gives 110 whenever they step on the floor. They started off hot with the first quarter ending 18-4. That hole was too deep for Potts Camp to get out of.

    2A State Champion

  8. Greenwood (25-7)

It’s true what they say, you just have to be hot at the right time. Greenwood went 9-0 from February until the championship game. They pulled the upset of the playoffs by beating Raymond and stopping them from gaining the 4 peat.

    4A State Champions

  9. Harrison Central (26-5)

Harrison Central has been one that people were talking about all season. They have some really good young players and lost a key player the week of the semifinals. Expect them to be back again next season

  10. Raymond (25-8)

After losing a really close game to Greenwood, Raymond has nothing to hang their heads about. They will be returning most of their players and with their history, we can expect them to be back again next season

    4A Runner up
