It was an exhilarating start to the season, and in the upcoming three-part series, we will take an in-depth look at some of the standout performers who left their mark on the SSP Tip-Off event. S
Callaway 2025 5’3 Johanna Wilson
Wilson is a dynamic PG with a lot of fire inside. She does a great job of orchestrating everything that callaway does on both sides of the ball. It took her a quarter to get going but when she got going it was hard to stop her. She has a tight handle, quick first step, and a deadly crossover that she uses to get by defenders. Her floater is one of the best I’ve seen, and she’s capable of knocking down shots from anywhere. College coaches should be all over Wilson.
Hillcrest (AL) 6’ Jareah Branch
Passing the look test was automatic for Branch. She’s long and uses her length well on both sides of the ball. She’s able to get down hill in transition and finishes well at the rim. In the half court setting she has a deadly midrange shot that’s hard to stop. She does so many things well from passing to rebounding. As the season progresses I wouldn’t be surprise if Branch picked up multiple MM D1 offers. Coaches this is one to watch
Callaway 2026 6’ Shelbie Walker
Shelbie was very impressive throughout the game. She has good footwork and really good body control. She has a soft touch around the rim and converts almost every time she gets touches in the paint. She does a great job of boxing out and grabbing boards. She will be a player to watch this season for the lady chargers.
2026 5’7 Blakeley Nixon
Nixon is a tough guard who can get a bucket when needed. She’s been scoring the ball pretty consistently so far this season and she did the same at the tip-off. She has a solid handle that allows her to get to her spots. She uses her size well to bully smaller guards around and gives great effort on the defensive end. She’s only a sophmore so she will be one to monitor over the next few seasons.
