SSP Tip-Off Classic Standouts Pt.2

Below we dive in with Part 2 of standout performers from the SSP Tip-Off Classic.

Heritage Academy 2024 6’2 Whit Altmyer

If there was a welcome back to the Sip performance this was it for Whit. He’s grown about 4-5 inches since the last time I saw him. Whit spent last season in Tennessee playing with Braircrest. Saturday he was on a tear from start to finish. Altmyer looked unstoppable off the dribble and got paint touches whenever he wanted. His handles were crisp and he made shots often. Heritage looked really good Saturday and will be a team to follow as the season progresses. Coaches be sure to get over and watch Whit Altmyer this season.

Desoto Central 2025 6’ Freddy Ards

Freddy is a player we didn’t know coming in but after his performance I can promise we know him now. He dropped buckets and even dropped a defender in the process. Ards got to the rim and made tough lay ups all game. Ards is having himself a good season so far and he will be one to follow moving forward.

Heritage Academy 2024 6’5 Tylan Wicks

Wicks looked really impressive playing with his new squad on Saturday. He’s playing with a lot more confidence and is getting things done. He was impressive while playing above the rim and even showed a more polished handle in the half court. He brings rebounding, shot making, a long defender, and extra scoring to a loaded Heritage squad. Wicks has drawn interest from Jucos since the summer and that list will only grow if he can continue to improve over the course of the season

Heritage Academy 2025 6’1 KJ Barnes

Barnes is another new addition to the HA Squad. He has improved drastically from last season and is playing with a ton of confidence. He has a smooth handle and shot making ability that makes him another lethal weapon for HA. What really sticks out the most is the newly acquired athleticism. He came down the lane and caught a NASTY body! Wasn’t expecting that but the crowd enjoyed it. One to watch moving forward.

Desoto Central 2024 5’7 Jaden Fiser

Jaden is one we’ve seen a few times and one thing that’s evident is his effort. He made timely shots and came up with a few steals during the game. One thing that stood out was that his a great team. He was seen throughout the game boosting his guys when they made plays. He’s one of the glue guys for Desoto and will be an instrumental part of their success this season.
