Team 2

No.4 2020 6’1 Calvin Banks Kosciusko (MS)

Banks did exactly what I heard he could do coming into the camp. He’s a strong-bodied guard who plays defense at a high level. He gets downhill in a hurry and uses his body well to finish through contact. Banks is also very capable from 3 as he connected on several occasions.

No. 62 2023 6’5 Gavin Brinker Pontotoc (MS)

The Freshman came into the camp with plenty of buzz after a strong showing this summer on the AAU circuit as well as other camps. Brinker has a nonstop motor which gives him the edge over his peers. He has a good handle and feel for the game. Rather it was bullying his way to the basket or hitting tough jumpers, he found a way to put the ball in the basket. He has a strong case for being a top 3 freshman in the state.

No. 8 2020 6’ Keshon Bynum Houston (MS)

Keshon did a nice job setting up his teammates for easy shot attempts. His passing ability was crisp and creative. HE played hard on the defensive end and scored the easy buckets when they came his way. Bynum has a good IQ and that makes the game easy for himself and teammates.

No. 65 2020 5’10 Dylan Demarco Grace Baptist Academy (MS)

Dylan had a great day. He has a high basketball IQ and really understand how to play. He brought a lot of energy in both games and made sure the ball never stuck and got everyone involved. He has a nice shot and a quick release. He connected on multiple occasions from 3 point range and finished all the simple plays.

No. 71 2021 6’4 Joe Holloway North Forrest (MS)

Holloway was one of the top performers on the day. Coming in I didn’t know much about him but he left the event with a lot of buzz around his game. He plays with high energy and nonstop motor He can get downhill in a hurry and can finish at the rim in a variety of ways. His length gives him an advantage on both ends of the floor. When watching Holloway one will see that he does all the small things that cant go unnoticed.

No.24 2021 6’ Drew Keeton Amory (MS)

Keeton had a solid day. Can make things happen with the ball in his hands. Does a solid job of getting open coming off screens and moving without the ball. Defended well. Very vocal and got his teammates involved.

No. 32 6’3 Jaeshon Nugent Graace Baptist Academy (MS)

One player that was always in attack mode was Nugent. He has a very strong body and attacks the basket had and often. On the defensive end he locks up and grabs boards with ease. He makes smart plays in transition rather it be a pass or finishing easily at the basket.

No. 73 2021 7’ Bol Nyuon Grace Baptist Academy (MS)

Nyuon was another top performer. He’s long and athletic which is obvious when you view the roster. He really impressed us with his ability to move up and down the floor. He has a good understanding of what’s expected as he rebounded everything at its highest point. Nyuon is the ultimate rim protector has he cam up with multiple blocks every game. Offensively he finishes all the plays around the basket. Easy dunks and lay ups are easy money for him.

No. 48 2021 6’3 Matthew Smith Desoto Central (MS)

Moving on to another top performer we have Smith. Smith was one of the best athletes we had at the Tidal Wave. He used his size and took advantage of the smaller defenders that he matched up against. He thrives in transition and converts at the rim easily. On the defensive end he locks up and rebounds well. He had one of the top plays of the event where he got a steal at half court and took flight on a defender at the rim!

No. 1 5’7 Zane Tipler Pontotoc (MS)

In a small group of freshman Tipler stood out. A very crafty guard who can make plays for his teammates and get his own offense going. He brings a lot of flare and fearlessness with him when he steps onto the court. He did a great job of picking his spots and knocking down shots all day. His range from 3 is his go to weapon.
